What is the CFX fee?

The Commodity Futures Exchange (CFX) is Indonesia's national bourse for crypto assets. What is the tax fee?

The tax fee refers to PPh (Pajak Penghasilan), Indonesia's income tax. It applies to crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto transactions, regardless of whether the transaction results in a profit or a loss. Please note that this tax does not apply to fiat-to-crypto transactions.

How do the CFX fee and tax fee work?

The CFX fee and tax fee are calculated based on the assets received in a transaction and are deducted directly from the final amount. The following examples illustrate how this works in different scenarios.

Case 1: Crypto-to-fiat transaction via Convert

User A converts 100 USDT to IDR at an exchange rate of 1 USDT = 16,800 IDR.

  1. IDR amount: 16,800 × 100 = 1,680,000 IDR
  2. CFX fee: 1,680,000 × 0.0100% = 168 IDR
  3. Tax fee: 1,680,000 × 0.21% = 3,528 IDR
  4. Amount received: 1,680,000 − 168 − 3,528 = 1,676,304 IDR

Case 2: Fiat-to-crypto transaction via Convert

User B converts 1,680,000 IDR to USDT at an exchange rate of 1 USDT = 16,800 IDR.

  1. USDT amount: 1,680,000 ÷ 16,800 = 100 USDT
  2. CFX fee: 100 × 0.0100% = 0.01 USDT
  3. Tax fee: Not applicable
  4. Amount received: 100 − 0.01 = 99.99 USDT

Case 3: Crypto-to-crypto transaction via Spot

User C sells 1 BTC in the BTC/USDT pair at a price of 100,000 USDT, with a 0.1% trading fee.

  1. USDT amount: 100,000 USDT
  2. Trading fee: 100,000 × 0.1% = 100 USDT
  3. CFX fee: 100,000 × 0.0200% = 20 USDT
  4. Tax fee: 100,000 × 0.21% = 210 USDT
  5. Amount received: 100,000 − 100 − 20 − 210 = 99,670 USDT

Note: The examples above are for illustration only and do not take into account any other fees that may apply.
